Jasone Benito who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Victoriano Asencio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Horacio Jesus Wilkenson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Horacio Jesus Wilkenson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ireno Vivas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Peacock in the 25th minute of play. Ramón Dalgalarrando recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Ramón Dalgalarrando fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored COLO COLO's protests and gave Ramón Dalgalarrando a yellow card for diving instead. Jasone Benito kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Paillaco's Ireno Vivas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horacio Jesus Wilkenson in the 36th minute of play. In the 41stth minute of the game Horacio Jesus Wilkenson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paillaco's Ireno Vivas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Horacio Jesus Wilkenson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Paillaco's zone, Horacio Jesus Wilkenson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ireno Vivas came out of the goal and Horacio Jesus Wilkenson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Héctor David Turres to make the kick off. Victoriano Asencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Héctor David Turres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nestor Peacock struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Ireno Vivas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for COLO COLO. Nestor Peacock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ireno Vivas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 61 minutes, Nestor Peacock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. COLO COLO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nestor Peacock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Horacio Jesus Wilkenson came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the COLO COLO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horacio Jesus Wilkenson couldn't finish the play. Amato Canal kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Horacio Jesus Wilkenson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute, COLO COLO's Ramón Dalgalarrando dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. In the 84th match minute, Paillaco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amato Canal to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute of the match Juan Manuel Bardesi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ireno Vivas skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Horacio Jesus Wilkenson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ireno Vivas was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. In the 91st minute, Nestor Peacock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 92nd minute Horacio Jesus Wilkenson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ireno Vivas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Horacio Jesus Wilkenson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Horacio Jesus Wilkenson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. COLO COLO played a much better game than Paillaco and deserved their victory. The Paillaco players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
