Union Temuco SADP's Saúl Ferrero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theobald Baracaldo in the 15th minute of play. After 15 minutes, Julián Monroy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Union Temuco SADP and the Parral players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Theobald Baracaldo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Parral's supporters rose to their feet, but Theobald Baracaldo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saúl Ferrero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Roque Tello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Saúl Ferrero was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. 20 minutes into the match, Parral's Efraín Precht sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Saúl Ferrero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Evelio Alcantara came out and tried to block the shot, but Remicio Velarde slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 43rd minute. Julián Monroy kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
