After a rather tough play, Caruso CSD's David Bowie got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 10th minute Rodolfo Markovic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duardo Astaburuaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caruso CSD's Duardo Astaburuaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogerio Recabal in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Kutlay Varan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caruso CSD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Umaquilca AFC the free kick. Kutlay Varan kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Duardo Astaburuaga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualberto Hanssen, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Duardo Astaburuaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pere Jordi Tello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Caruso CSD getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Kutlay Varan hit a great ball. Rogerio Recabal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duardo Astaburuaga having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Gualberto Hanssen made the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, Caruso CSD's Taurino Urbistondo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Moncho Zañartu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Duardo Astaburuaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogerio Recabal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rogerio Recabal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Umaquilca AFC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Pere Jordi Tello hit a great ball. After 69 played minutes Umaquilca AFC got a freekick which was hit by Pere Jordi Tello. Tamariz Camaño hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the match, Umaquilca AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ervigio Pirazzoli came free, but Moncho Zañartu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ervigio Pirazzoli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Umaquilca AFC's Moncho Zañartu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ervigio Pirazzoli in the 83rd minute of play. Moncho Zañartu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Taurino Urbistondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Caruso CSD's goal looked a bit too open when Gualberto Hanssen came free, but Duardo Astaburuaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Umaquilca AFC's zone, Taurino Urbistondo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moncho Zañartu came out of the goal and Taurino Urbistondo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rodolfo Markovic received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Duardo Astaburuaga came out and tried to block the shot, but Rodolfo Markovic slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 94th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Umaquilca AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Caruso CSD.
