After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Juan Luis Amesti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ceandro Del Pino ran over to the corner to take the kick. Victorio Mario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Luis Amesti in the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Gueyusca's Ramón Larralde sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victorio Mario narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Coyo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Juan Luis Amesti scored to the left of an out of position Victorio Mario, making the score, 1-0. Victorio Mario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Luis Amesti in the 41st minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ulises Aiach made a kick off. Raymundo Vicencio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adán Gilberto having to interfere. Adán Gilberto made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Raymundo Vicencio sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Coyo's zone, Ramón Larralde stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victorio Mario came out of the goal and Ramón Larralde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victorio Mario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramón Larralde, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After having played for 95 minutes, Ramón Larralde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gueyusca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramón Larralde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 97th minute Juan Luis Amesti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorio Mario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Raymundo Vicencio fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coyo's protests and gave Raymundo Vicencio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 98th minute, Raymundo Vicencio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gueyusca fans cheered their team off the field, for while Coyo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
