When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Gabriel Salamo put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Moncho Zañartu. Gualberto Hanssen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ronaldo Flechart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rogerio Recabal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gualberto Hanssen in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronaldo Flechart saved Chillaiza FC from getting behind. Damario Cabañas hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Ronaldo Flechart showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gualberto Hanssen in the 30th minute of the match. After having played for 38 minutes, Rogerio Recabal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Umaquilca AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogerio Recabal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gualberto Hanssen had several of the Chillaiza FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 40 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Ronaldo Flechart as he didn't even see the shot coming. Gualberto Hanssen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Ronaldo Flechart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The supporters of Chillaiza FC booed when Umaquilca AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alarico Adaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leandro Isassi got free with Moncho Zañartu in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chillaiza FC's Vinicio Vives pulled a muscle in his back after 56 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 56 minutes of play Umaquilca AFC's Geraldo Albano was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Geraldo Albano hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Chillaiza FC's Leandro Isassi tried to score from far away in the 58th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 60 played minutes Umaquilca AFC got a freekick which was hit by Gualberto Hanssen. Rogerio Recabal struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Ronaldo Flechart didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Umaquilca AFC. The Umaquilca AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Chillaiza FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Chillaiza FC.
