Spectators: 6707 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1707, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Evaristo Peñafiel took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 8th minute Saturnín Pantaleon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Alberto Picarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saturnín Pantaleon struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. José Alberto Picarte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balsas. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Evaristo Peñafiel sped through Balsas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luis Alberto Samaniego. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Peñafiel in the 18th minute of play forced Balsas's goalkeeper Luis Alberto Samaniego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Balsas's zone, Ignacio Dighero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luis Alberto Samaniego came out of the goal and Ignacio Dighero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Balsas's Luis Alberto Samaniego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Peñafiel in the 39th minute of play. Evaristo Peñafiel scored 1-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luis Alberto Samaniego, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. José Alberto Picarte made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Juan Carlos Romeo sent off a good shot on target. The Balsas players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Enquelga were winning 1-2.

52 minutes into the game, Fulgencio Vicuña was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Balsas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Enquelga the free kick. After a rather tough play, Balsas's Fulgencio Vicuña got a free kick in the 52nd minute. A collision led to Enquelga getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Niguel Reinoso hit a great ball. Saturnín Pantaleon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Alberto Picarte read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Juan Carlos Romeo might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Alberto Picarte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juan Carlos Romeo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65th minute, Juan Carlos Romeo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Alberto Picarte was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 72nd minute, Juan Luis Portalupi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Evaristo Peñafiel came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Enquelga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Peñafiel couldn't finish the play. Evaristo Peñafiel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Juan Carlos Romeo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Alberto Picarte having to interfere. In the 86th match minute, Enquelga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niguel Reinoso to maneuver through the defense. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
