Spectators: 6695 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1695, VIP seats: 0) Amazaca FC's Donato Araneda started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leonides Nieto came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Universidad Católica's Baldomiro Cox. But to his dismay, Baldomiro Cox quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Aureliano Bianchi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ab Scheper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 10th match minute, Amazaca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ysidro Carretero to maneuver through the defense. Leonides Nieto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stoyan Radichkov in the 15th minute of play. Aureliano Bianchi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Leonides Nieto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Feliberto Ortega's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but José Ignacio Lavín firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Cox in the 24th minute of play forced Amazaca FC's goalkeeper Leonides Nieto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baldomiro Cox received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Leonides Nieto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ysidro Carretero kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the game, Karl-Georg Malchow was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Universidad Católica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Amazaca FC the free kick. Aureliano Bianchi took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonides Nieto. Leonides Nieto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 39 played minutes Amazaca FC got a freekick which was hit by Ysidro Carretero. 42 minutes into the match, Amazaca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aureliano Bianchi came free, but Leonides Nieto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Aureliano Bianchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 47th minute, one of Amazaca FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Amazaca FC. After the first half Universidad Católica were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aureliano Bianchi to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Ysidro Carretero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baldomiro Cox received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Leonides Nieto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute Donato Araneda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Ignacio Lavín saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Baldomiro Cox had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Amazaca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Felipe Ríos came free, but Leonides Nieto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Amazaca FC's goalkeeper Leonides Nieto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ysidro Carretero kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Aureliano Bianchi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th minute, Universidad Católica's Ab Scheper dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Baldomiro Cox struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Leonides Nieto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Universidad Católica. Manuel Antonio Arnault kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Aureliano Bianchi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Nieto was relentless in the 99th minute of the game. Universidad Católica played a much better game than Amazaca FC and deserved their victory. The Amazaca FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
