Spectators: 6691 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1691, VIP seats: 0) Ollague's Loreto Bas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Universidad Católica booed when Ollague was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xabel Puyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ab Scheper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Víctor Javier Tello got free with José Ignacio Lavín in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ab Scheper in the 9th minute of play forced Ollague's goalkeeper Juan Luis Guemes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Ignacio Lavín made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Víctor Javier Tello sent off a good shot on target. Baldomiro Cox struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Juan Luis Guemes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Universidad Católica. In the 23rd minute, Ab Scheper got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juan Luis Guemes came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Universidad Católica's Aureliano Bianchi. But to his dismay, Aureliano Bianchi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ab Scheper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Universidad Católica's Baldomiro Cox got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ab Scheper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aureliano Bianchi to strike the kick off in the second half. Juan Luis Guemes made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Baldomiro Cox sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Ollague getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Juan Jose Dennett hit a great ball. Ab Scheper recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ab Scheper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Juan Luis Guemes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baldomiro Cox came free with the goalkeeper in the 74th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Juan Luis Guemes could save by the left post. Baldomiro Cox took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juan Luis Guemes. Juan Luis Guemes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Baldomiro Cox's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan Luis Guemes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Ab Scheper got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Universidad Católica's zone, Loreto Bas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Ignacio Lavín came out of the goal and Loreto Bas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Universidad Católica played a much better game than Ollague and deserved their victory. The Ollague players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
