Barranquilla FC's Tauro Cabrito got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. David Israel Larraín took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quintín Magnani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Godofredo Milroy got free with David Israel Larraín in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Quillota AFC's Quintín Magnani slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of David Israel Larraín. That made the score 2-0 after 20 minutes of play. 24 minutes into the match, Quillota AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Tauro Cabrito came free, but Natanael Cuenca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Quillota AFC's Romeo Moreira couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Barranquilla FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Godofredo Milroy got free with David Israel Larraín in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes into the match, Barranquilla FC's goalkeeper David Israel Larraín had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Godofredo Milroy. David Israel Larraín made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quintín Magnani in the 35th minute of play. Godofredo Milroy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but David Israel Larraín made a huge save. Tauro Cabrito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natanael Cuenca having to interfere. If Godofredo Milroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Quintín Magnani was extremely unlucky when he, in the 48th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

55 minutes into the game, Godofredo Milroy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. David Israel Larraín was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Barranquilla FC's David Israel Larraín played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quintín Magnani in the 60th minute of play. Miguel Ángel Bazaes charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miguel Ángel Bazaes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st minute, Miguel Ángel Bazaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Quintín Magnani sped through Barranquilla FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of David Israel Larraín. Godofredo Milroy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 99 minutes had been played when some careless play by Quillota AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Manu Andrade was slow to take the kick. During this time Barranquilla FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Barranquilla FC's corner Manu Andrade fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Natanael Cuenca quite easily take care of the ball. Barranquilla FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
