Spectators: 6719 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Pepe Merino took the kick off in the first half of the match. Pepe Merino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pepe Merino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Miromir Grondzki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pepe Merino in the 7th minute of play forced Universidad de Los Andes's goalkeeper Miromir Grondzki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Pepe Merino fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jose Esteban Alzerreca hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Miromir Grondzki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pepe Merino, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Universidad de Los Andes's goalkeeper Miromir Grondzki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pepe Merino. In the 14th match minute, Universidad de Los Andes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelino Vuskovic to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the game, Higuerta's Ángel Frost nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Miromir Grondzki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Casimiro Zammit might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miromir Grondzki. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Casimiro Zammit ran back to his position shaking his head. Celino Chirinos was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 28th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ángel Frost could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Miromir Grondzki made a huge save. Miromir Grondzki was a little too slow when Pepe Merino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-0. Ángel Frost sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miromir Grondzki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ángel Frost in the 38th minute. Diego Swett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Ervigio Falconi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ángel Frost could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Miromir Grondzki made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Diego Swett made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Pepe Merino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Higuerta's supporters rose to their feet, but Pepe Merino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miromir Grondzki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 52 minutes into the match, Universidad de Los Andes's goal looked a bit too open when Ángel Frost came free, but Miromir Grondzki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Universidad de Los Andes getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Angelino Vuskovic hit a great ball. Pepe Merino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miromir Grondzki having to interfere. Higuerta's Pepe Merino pulled a muscle in his back after 59 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 59 minutes, Geovani Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Universidad de Los Andes and the Higuerta players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Universidad de Los Andes! Ángel Frost sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, one of Universidad de Los Andes:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Universidad de Los Andes. Celino Chirinos shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After 77 minutes of play, Higuerta's Ángel Frost made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miromir Grondzki was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jose Esteban Alzerreca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ervigio Falconi having to interfere. Ángel Frost struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Miromir Grondzki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Higuerta. Higuerta's Ervigio Falconi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Swett in the 100th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Higuerta had won after a very even match.
