Spectators: 6704 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1704, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Marcelo Waddington kicked off to start the match. Cuenca AFC's Martino Oliva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Waddington in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th match minute, Cuenca AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincente Grez to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, Héctor David Dueñas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martino Oliva. Cuenca AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Héctor David Dueñas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Waddington in the 14th minute of play forced Cuenca AFC's goalkeeper Martino Oliva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zenaido Jaramillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celestino Irigoyen in the 21st minute of play. Caraguano AFC's Zenaido Jaramillo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Caraguano AFC from getting a goal against them. Marcelo Waddington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martino Oliva having to interfere. The supporters of Caraguano AFC booed when Cuenca AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celestino Irigoyen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Waddington took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martino Oliva. Martino Oliva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 34th minute, Celestino Irigoyen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Cuenca AFC fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when Cuenca AFC's Celestino Irigoyen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 47 minutes into the match, Marcelo Waddington notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Cuenca AFC's Martino Oliva. Martino Oliva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celestino Irigoyen to make the kick off. Zenaido Jaramillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Irigoyen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Héctor David Dueñas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Héctor David Dueñas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zenaido Jaramillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Irigoyen, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Juan Alfonso Mac Iver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Zenaido Jaramillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caraguano AFC's Zenaido Jaramillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celestino Irigoyen in the 74th minute of play. Vincente Grez kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Celestino Irigoyen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 81 minutes into the game, Celestino Irigoyen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Zenaido Jaramillo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 86 minutes, Juan Alfonso Mac Iver managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuenca AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Alfonso Mac Iver was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celestino Irigoyen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juan Alfonso Mac Iver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Zenaido Jaramillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan Alfonso Mac Iver recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Celestino Irigoyen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolfo Pirazzoli hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. After 99 minutes of play, Cuenca AFC's Juan Alfonso Mac Iver made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zenaido Jaramillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
