The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lois Martínez in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zenaido Jaramillo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Milián Jons fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caraguano AFC's protests and gave Milián Jons a yellow card for diving instead. Milián Jons kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Zenaido Jaramillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Manuel Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Esequiel Basauri charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Esequiel Basauri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pepinos F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 14th minute. Penalty! In the 16th minute there was a penalty for Caraguano AFC. Mauricio Acevedo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tauno Valmas. 1-0. Marcelo Waddington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pepinos F.C.'s goalkeeper Tauno Valmas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Unai Rober during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Unai Rober kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Héctor David Dueñass short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Tauno Valmas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pedro Manuel Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zenaido Jaramillo having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Pepinos F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Waddington came free, but Tauno Valmas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During the 44th minute of the match Esequiel Basauri completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Esequiel Basauri a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A hard shot 49 in the game by Héctor David Dueñas from a close distance when the talented Tauno Valmas managed to make a qualified save. Pepinos F.C.'s players were relieved.

Tauno Valmas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Caraguano AFC's zone, Lois Martínez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zenaido Jaramillo came out of the goal and Lois Martínez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zenaido Jaramillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lois Martínez in the 60th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Caraguano AFC's zone, Lois Martínez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zenaido Jaramillo came out of the goal and Lois Martínez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute, Lois Martínez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Pepinos F.C.'s zone, Héctor David Dueñas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tauno Valmas came out of the goal and Héctor David Dueñas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Lois Martínez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lois Martínez came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Pepinos F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lois Martínez couldn't finish the play. Tauno Valmas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Waddington in the 88th minute of play. Ariano Gallo hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Caraguano AFC's Héctor David Dueñas got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pepinos F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Caraguano AFC.
