Tauno Valmas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celestino Irigoyen in the 3rd minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Pepinos F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Poyancos came free, but Tauno Valmas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martino Oliva made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Pedro Manuel Massa sent off a good shot on target. Tauno Valmas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Alfonso Mac Iver in the 16th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Alfonso Mac Iver in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tauno Valmas saved Pepinos F.C. from getting behind. Lois Martínez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Juan Alfonso Mac Iver had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tauno Valmas. Pepinos F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juan Alfonso Mac Iver was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Pedro Manuel Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Martino Oliva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martino Oliva was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lois Martínez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 44 minute of play. In the 47th minute Lois Martínez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martino Oliva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Celestino Irigoyen made a kick off. Lois Martínez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martino Oliva having to interfere. Tauno Valmas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celestino Irigoyen in the 74th minute of play. Juan Alfonso Mac Iver could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Tauno Valmas made a huge save. Juan Alfonso Mac Iver blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tauno Valmas having to make a save. Tauno Valmas came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Cuenca AFC's Juan Alfonso Mac Iver. But to his dismay, Juan Alfonso Mac Iver quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, Cuenca AFC's Vincente Grez got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Pepinos F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oscar Barcena in the 85th minute. The corner ended in Oscar Barcena almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cuenca AFC's Martino Oliva did a great save. With his leg Tauno Valmas managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Cuenca AFC's Juan Alfonso Mac Iver fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Celestino Irigoyen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan Alfonso Mac Iver got free with Tauno Valmas in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Normando Barbero fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pepinos F.C.'s protests and gave Normando Barbero a yellow card for diving instead. Normando Barbero kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The Pepinos F.C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cuenca AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cuenca AFC.
