Duardo Manguyague took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Paillao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Puraquina's goal looked a bit too open when Hernán Ballesteros came free, but Duardo Manguyague reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salomón Orellana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Jeronimo Ugalde made a huge save. Victor Hugo Abascal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeronimo Ugalde having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Minetue AFC's Hernán Ballesteros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Duardo Manguyague made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Puraquina's Victor Hugo Abascal in the 25th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Jeronimo Ugalde was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Minetue AFC through an amazing save. 27 minutes into the match, Puraquina's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Paillao came free, but Duardo Manguyague reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute, Enrique Manhood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Hernán Ballesteros put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Duardo Manguyague. After having played for 38 minutes, Victor Hugo Abascal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Puraquina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Hugo Abascal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeronimo Ugalde didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victor Hugo Abascal went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Candido Paillao received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Duardo Manguyague tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Puraquina's zone, Hernán Ballesteros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duardo Manguyague came out of the goal and Hernán Ballesteros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hernán Ballesteros to make the kick off. With a little luck, Puraquina's Duardo Manguyague got control of the ball when Candido Paillao tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eladio Salles hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Duardo Manguyague was a little too slow when Hernán Ballesteros got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-3. In the 64th minute Hernán Ballesteros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duardo Manguyague saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eladio Salles took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jeronimo Ugalde. Minetue AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hernán Ballesteros was extremely unlucky when he, in the 71st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 73 minutes, Lander Aspillaga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Minetue AFC and the Puraquina players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Minetue AFC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Lander Aspillaga hit a great ball. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Minetue AFC's goalkeeper Jeronimo Ugalde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 77th match minute, Minetue AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lander Aspillaga to maneuver through the defense. Demesio Vivanco, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Salomón Orellana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 82 minutes, Victor Hugo Abascal made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Minetue AFC's Jeronimo Ugalde tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Candido Paillao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
