Illapel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Toculla FC the free kick. After 10 played minutes Illapel got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Mac Lean. In the 13th minute Manuel Antonio Roques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rollo Moron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Illapel's zone, Igor Casanova stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martino Villaseca came out of the goal and Igor Casanova tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luis Eduardo Mantilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Antonio Roques in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rollo Moron saved Toculla FC from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Antonio Roques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luis Eduardo Mantilla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martino Villaseca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Illapel defense, Luis Eduardo Mantilla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martino Villaseca. The Illapel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martino Villaseca should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Antonio Roques in the 96th minute of play forced Toculla FC's goalkeeper Rollo Moron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Although Illapel had been in control for most of the match, Toculla FC still came away with the win.
