The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Máximo Manghy during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Máximo Manghy hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Paniquihue's Vasco Bastic got a free kick in the 10th minute. A hard shot 11 in the game by Máximo Manghy from a close distance when the talented Silvio Piedra managed to make a qualified save. Paniquihue's players were relieved. Silvio Piedra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Máximo Manghy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Almireses AFC booed when Paniquihue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Gafo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guillermo Gafo took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tobías Labbé. Tobías Labbé dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Antonio Armenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvio Piedra was a little too slow when Máximo Manghy got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 39th minute, Paniquihue's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Orlín Aldana fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Almireses AFC's Máximo Manghy suffered a concussion after 41 minutes and had to leave the field. When Martin Backhouse fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paniquihue's protests and gave Martin Backhouse a yellow card for diving instead. Martin Backhouse kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Paniquihue's Silvio Piedra got control of the ball when Hernán Requena tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodolfo Charme stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jose Ramon Bunster hit a great ball. After having played for 59 minutes, Guillermo Gafo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paniquihue's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guillermo Gafo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silvio Piedra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernán Requena in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65thth minute of the game Hernán Requena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paniquihue's Silvio Piedra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tobías Labbé stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodolfo Charme's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. 69 minutes into the game, Guillermo Gafo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Tobías Labbé was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hernán Requena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvio Piedra having to interfere. Hernán Requena might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvio Piedra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hernán Requena ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 86th match minute, Paniquihue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Aristorena to maneuver through the defense. After 87 minutes, Hernán Requena made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Paniquihue's Silvio Piedra tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 92nd minute, Toni Gana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Almireses AFC defense, Guillermo Gafo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tobías Labbé. The Almireses AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tobías Labbé should have stopped the shot.
