The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Valenzuela got free with Orlando Magdahl in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Joaquin Camacho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bertrán Abaitua might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Orlando Magdahl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bertrán Abaitua ran back to his position shaking his head. Joaquin Camacho struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Orlando Magdahl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Magallanes FC. Orlando Magdahl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertrán Abaitua, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. The supporters of Rompe mallas booed when Magallanes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Gustavo Gorbea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bertrán Abaitua sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Magallanes FC's Rómulo Arriaran got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jon-Ander Luksic's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Orlando Magdahl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Orlando Magdahl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertrán Abaitua, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Aaron Ruminas charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Ruminas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Rompe mallas getting a freekick after 84 minutes play.
