With his leg Jerardo Meneses managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Cutiguano's Arnau Justicia fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Mejillones FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Arnau Justicia scored to the left of an out of position Jerardo Meneses, making the score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnau Justicia in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerardo Meneses prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42ndth minute of the game Arnau Justicia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mejillones FC's Jerardo Meneses was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnau Justicia to strike the kick off in the second half. If Arnau Justicia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Cutiguano fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Cutiguano's Arnau Justicia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Damario Cattalán sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jerardo Meneses showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damario Cattalán in the 73rd minute of the match. Jerardo Meneses showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inocencio Marre, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 78th minute Damario Cattalán suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Zacarías Blest fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mejillones FC's protests and gave Zacarías Blest a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th minute, Zacarías Blest hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Mejillones FC booed when Cutiguano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inocencio Marre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henrico Salamo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Talavera, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the game, Edelmiro Basabilvaso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cutiguano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mejillones FC the free kick. After 83 played minutes Cutiguano got a freekick which was hit by Edelmiro Basabilvaso. Arnau Justicia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Jerardo Meneses tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Arnau Justicia came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Cutiguano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnau Justicia couldn't finish the play. If Arnau Justicia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Cutiguano's Inocencio Marre got a free kick in the 96th minute. There was no doubt that Cutiguano were the better team. Cutiguano's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
