Mónico Becerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonel Haverbeck made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Batista Soupper sent off a good shot on target. Batista Soupper could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Leonel Haverbeck made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristeo Lizarzaburu in the 18th minute of play forced Lota City FC's goalkeeper Leonel Haverbeck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mejillones FC's Jerardo Meneses played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mónico Becerra in the 19th minute of play. Batista Soupper could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Leonel Haverbeck made a huge save. Juan Ignacio Del Real hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Jerardo Meneses showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristofer Talavera in the 32nd minute of the match. Jerardo Meneses showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristofer Talavera, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mónico Becerra in the 40th minute of play forced Mejillones FC's goalkeeper Jerardo Meneses to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Ignacio Del Real during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Juan Ignacio Del Real kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After 43 minutes of play, Lota City FC's Mónico Becerra made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jerardo Meneses was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cristofer Talavera might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jerardo Meneses. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristofer Talavera ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arturo Talavera to make the kick off. If Cristofer Talavera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 58 minutes into the match, Dalmacio Manteola notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Lota City FC's Leonel Haverbeck. Leonel Haverbeck was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 67 minutes into the match, Lota City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Batista Soupper came free, but Leonel Haverbeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cristofer Talavera came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Lota City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristofer Talavera couldn't finish the play. After having played for 70 minutes, Flavio Dragicevic managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lota City FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavio Dragicevic was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Lota City FC defense, Arturo Talavera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonel Haverbeck. The Lota City FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonel Haverbeck should have stopped the shot. If Cristofer Talavera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute of the match Zacarías Blest shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonel Haverbeck showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Cristofer Talavera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dalmacio Manteola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Haverbeck having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
