Cerilo Gatica ran back to his position shaking his head. Olmue's Romualdo Benavente proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Olmue from getting a goal against them. Baldomiro Vega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romualdo Benavente having to interfere. If Aureliano Fouillioux had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, Olmue's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomiro Vega came free, but Romualdo Benavente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Chicureo's Aníbal Parodi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Romualdo Benavente. That made the score 3-0 after 35 minutes of play. After 38 played minutes Olmue got a freekick which was hit by Felipo Del Fierro. A collision led to Olmue getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Topocho Delpiano hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Olmue's zone, Aníbal Parodi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romualdo Benavente came out of the goal and Aníbal Parodi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Cerilo Gatica made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aníbal Parodi in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romualdo Benavente saved Olmue from getting behind. Olmue's Romualdo Benavente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomiro Vega in the 59th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Chicureo's Aureliano Fouillioux got a free kick in the 66th minute. Aníbal Parodi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Romualdo Benavente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romualdo Benavente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aníbal Parodi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isidoro Duble sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Aníbal Parodi came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Chicureo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aníbal Parodi couldn't finish the play. In the 83rdth minute of the game Aureliano Fouillioux who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olmue's Romualdo Benavente was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Aníbal Parodi, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 87 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Romualdo Benavente was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When Aníbal Parodi came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Chicureo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aníbal Parodi couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Aníbal Parodi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romualdo Benavente was relentless in the 94th minute of the game.
