Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Huachipato FC's Ernesto Garmendia got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 7 minutes into the game, Ernesto Garmendia lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Fortunato Trejo. León Yevenez took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santiago Pellegrini. Santiago Pellegrini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 13th match minute, Melco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delfino Oyarce to maneuver through the defense. Ernesto Garmendia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the game, Melco's León Yevenez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Santiago Pellegrini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Danilo Obanos hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Ernesto Garmendia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Fortunato Trejo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Melco's zone, Ernesto Garmendia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fortunato Trejo came out of the goal and Ernesto Garmendia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Huachipato FC's Ernesto Garmendia got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ernesto Garmendia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fortunato Trejo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicodemo Larrarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Samuel Daudet fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Huachipato FC's protests and gave Samuel Daudet a yellow card for diving instead. Samuel Daudet hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Melco were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lino Paniagua stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Ernesto Garmendia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Huachipato FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. After a defensive mix-up in Huachipato FC's zone, Lino Paniagua stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Pellegrini came out of the goal and Lino Paniagua tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lino Paniagua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Santiago Pellegrini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. León Yevenez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. León Yevenez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Pellegrini having to interfere. Lino Paniagua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Pellegrini having to interfere. When Huachipato FC's Nicodemo Larrarte in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Melco's goalie prevented a goal. Nicodemo Larrarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fortunato Trejo having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Melco's Selmo Plaza got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute, Nicodemo Larrarte ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fortunato Trejo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Ernesto Garmendia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fortunato Trejo having to interfere. Nicodemo Larrarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Fortunato Trejo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Ernesto Garmendia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huachipato FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernesto Garmendia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fortunato Trejo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 95 played minutes Melco got a freekick which was hit by Delfino Oyarce. Fortunato Trejo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesto Garmendia's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. Huachipato FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
