Andoni Acharan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aurelius Aiach having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Isaiás Nil in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aurelius Aiach prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aurelius Aiach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andoni Acharan in the 37th minute of play. After having played for 39 minutes, Isaiás Nil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chiapa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaiás Nil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isaiás Nil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelius Aiach having to interfere. If Andoni Acharan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Colico's goal looked a bit too open when Isaiás Nil came free, but Aurelius Aiach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moncho Nordon made a kick off. If Moncho Nordon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Miguel Celis in the 54th minute of play forced Chiapa's goalkeeper Aureo Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Colico booed when Chiapa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurilio Ortega didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Andoni Acharan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aurelius Aiach. The goal made the score 0-2. In the 64th minute, Maurilio Ortega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Chiapa's Maurilio Ortega slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aurelius Aiach. That made the score 0-3 after 69 minutes of play. In the 73rd minute, Andoni Acharan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Aurelius Aiach, passed just outside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andoni Acharan in the 78th minute of play forced Colico's goalkeeper Aurelius Aiach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aurelius Aiach made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Isaiás Nil sent off a good shot on target. After 84 minutes, Patxi Solorzano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Colico and the Chiapa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Isaiás Nil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Aurelius Aiach made a huge save. Andoni Acharan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jose Esteban Elgueta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aurelius Aiach. Colico's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Isaiás Nil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Aurelius Aiach tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chiapa's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
