In the 2nd match minute, Cristo Salva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodor Ureta to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 11 minutes, Lino Lezaeta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cristo Salva's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lino Lezaeta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amancio Alegre took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dalmacio Heredia. Dalmacio Heredia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Dalmacio Heredia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino Lezaeta in the 19th minute of play. Dalmacio Heredia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Lezaeta, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Lino Lezaeta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmacio Heredia having to interfere. If Lino Lezaeta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ceferino Hormazabal during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ceferino Hormazabal kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Alexandro Tacull took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dalmacio Heredia. Dalmacio Heredia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 46 minutes into the match, Cristo Salva's Lino Lezaeta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dalmacio Heredia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Damario Zavala stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damario Zavala in the 51st minute of play forced Cristo Salva's goalkeeper Alvino Borda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silviano Gorriti during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th minute, Amancio Alegre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Dalmacio Heredia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lino Lezaeta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes in the game, Lino Lezaeta fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Dalmacio Heredia having to interfere. With a little luck, Colo-Colo's Dalmacio Heredia got control of the ball when Amancio Alegre tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lino Lezaeta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Dalmacio Heredia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amancio Alegre came free with the goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dalmacio Heredia could save by the left post. 86 minutes into the game, Alexandro Tacull recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dalmacio Heredia. Alexandro Tacull showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 93rd match minute, Colo-Colo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damario Zavala to maneuver through the defense. Cristo Salva played a much better game than Colo-Colo and deserved their victory. The Colo-Colo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
