After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Monterei! The referee gave Quilquico AFC a penalty, 19 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Manolo Argomedo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Monterei's Julio Azúa. 0-1. After 25 played minutes Quilquico AFC got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Arlegui. In the 26th minute of the match Quintán Pasenau shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonel Leese showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Julio Azúa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Quilquico AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ysidro Farias came free, but Leonel Leese reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 40 played minutes, Quilquico AFC's Rolando Marsano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Azúa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Quilquico AFC reached it. In the 44th minute, Ysidro Farias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Monterei booed when Quilquico AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genaro Coloma didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute Ysidro Farias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Leese saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zebulón Teran made a kick off. Clemente Price kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ysidro Farias in the 54th minute of play forced Quilquico AFC's goalkeeper Leonel Leese to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Quilquico AFC's Cosme Schnaidt got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Genaro Coloma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Julio Azúa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genaro Coloma hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Clemente Price hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Quilquico AFC's Zebulón Teran suffered a sore thigh after 69 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 70 minutes, Baudelio Millape mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monterei and the Quilquico AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Julio Azúa went to the wrong direction when Manolo Argomedo was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Ysidro Farias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Jesus Villota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Leonel Leese tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A very good chance. 84 minutes in the game, Hugo Orlando Tellerias fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Julio Azúa having to interfere. When Ysidro Farias came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Monterei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ysidro Farias couldn't finish the play. Hugo Orlando Tellerias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Monterei's zone, Hugo Orlando Tellerias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Azúa came out of the goal and Hugo Orlando Tellerias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Constantino Restat fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monterei's protests and gave Constantino Restat a yellow card for diving instead.
