After 3 minutes of play, Colorado's Leopoldo Jacinto York made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Azúa was left in no man's land by his defense there! 7 minutes into the match, Colorado's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Jesus Villota came free, but Alifonso Manteola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th match minute, Monterei was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Price to maneuver through the defense. Julio Azúa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Soler, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Felipe Soler dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Azúa, 2-0. In the 27th match minute, Colorado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Jose Nancupel to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Monterei booed when Colorado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Jose Nancupel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colorado's Alifonso Manteola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ysidro Farias in the 37th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Colorado's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Jesus Villota came free, but Alifonso Manteola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Azúa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Jacinto York in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Ysidro Farias received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alifonso Manteola came out and tried to block the shot, but Ysidro Farias slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 55th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leopoldo Jacinto York during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Colorado's Leopoldo Jacinto York got a free kick in the 60th minute. After having played for 63 minutes, Ysidro Farias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monterei's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ysidro Farias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juan Jesus Villota recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 66 minutes, Juan Jesus Villota managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monterei's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Jesus Villota was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ysidro Farias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alifonso Manteola stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ysidro Farias's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Monterei's zone, Felipe Soler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Azúa came out of the goal and Felipe Soler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Felipe Soler's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Azúa was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Soler in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Azúa saved Monterei from getting behind. In the 84th minute of the match Colorado got a corner. Monterei's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Karlos Garcés ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Leopoldo Jacinto York came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Colorado fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Jacinto York couldn't finish the play. Colorado were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Monterei for a fine match.
