Ezmundo Jimenez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ysidro Farias in the 7th minute of play. In the 15th minute Ysidro Farias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ezmundo Jimenez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Juan Jesus Villota came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Monterei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Jesus Villota couldn't finish the play. After 25 minutes, Tamariz Basurto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U.DE.CHILE and the Monterei players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th minute, Tamariz Basurto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Monterei's Ezmundo Jimenez threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ysidro Farias, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 34th minute Ysidro Farias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ezmundo Jimenez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Ysidro Farias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monterei's supporters rose to their feet, but Ysidro Farias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ezmundo Jimenez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juan Jesus Villota could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Ezmundo Jimenez made a huge save. Ysidro Farias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, U.DE.CHILE's Normando Garretón got a free kick in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 59th match minute, U.DE.CHILE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uriel Tome to maneuver through the defense. After 61 minutes, Enrico Mota mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U.DE.CHILE and the Monterei players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, U.DE.CHILE's Enrico Mota got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 71st minute, Juan Jesus Villota ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ezmundo Jimenez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Jesus Villota in the 76th minute of play forced U.DE.CHILE's goalkeeper Ezmundo Jimenez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ezmundo Jimenez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Jesus Villota's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. A collision led to Monterei getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Baudelio Millape hit a great ball. Ezmundo Jimenez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Jesus Villota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ezmundo Jimenez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Jesus Villota in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of Monterei booed when U.DE.CHILE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tamariz Basurto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ysidro Farias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 100 minutes into the match, U.DE.CHILE's goal looked a bit too open when Ysidro Farias came free, but Ezmundo Jimenez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
