After having played for 5 minutes, Salvador Troncoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cartago AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salvador Troncoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pol Faraggi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Antonio Patrickson in the 10th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Patricio Fuentealba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cartago AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Fuentealba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Martín Lambert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Cartago AFC's Salvador Troncoso in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some careless play in the Cartago AFC defense, Xosé Antipa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pol Faraggi. The Cartago AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pol Faraggi should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Xosé Antipa to strike the kick off in the second half. Ernesto Riobo kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cartago AFC's Patricio Fuentealba got a free kick in the 54th minute. Cartago AFC's Salvador Troncoso got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Juliano Goyeneche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patricio Fuentealba got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 2-1 in the right cross in the 60th match minute before Francisco Martín Lambert had time to react. The supporters of CSD Colo Colo booed when Cartago AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salvador Troncoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patricio Fuentealba got free with Francisco Martín Lambert in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pol Faraggi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xosé Antipa in the 68th minute of play. In the 83rdth minute of the game Francisco Antonio Patrickson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cartago AFC's Pol Faraggi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Celestino Bizama charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celestino Bizama the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cartago AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for CSD Colo Colo.
