The audience thought a goal was coming when David Maillard got free with Carlos Saúl Garza in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th match minute, Coquimbo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Odón Romero to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as David Maillard kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Saúl Garza. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Manzano in the 15th minute of play forced Mapuches F.C.'s goalkeeper Mateo Avilés to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as David Maillard kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Saúl Garza. That made the score 2-0 in the 17 minute of play. After 21 played minutes Mapuches F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Héctor David Vives. In the 28th minute, Danilo Aldana made a precise shot to the right of Mateo Avilés. Mapuches F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 34 minutes into the match, Coquimbo's goalkeeper Carlos Saúl Garza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustavo La Motte. In the 48th minute of the match, David Maillard tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Carlos Saúl Garza saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Coquimbo getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Juan Jose Arlegui hit a great ball. If David Maillard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Epifanío Aliaga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Amancio Erazo hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Carlos Saúl Garza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo La Motte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 62 minutes of play, Mapuches F.C.'s Gustavo La Motte made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Saúl Garza was left in no man's land by his defense there! Timeteo Giron blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Saúl Garza having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo La Motte in the 72nd minute of play forced Coquimbo's goalkeeper Carlos Saúl Garza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Mapuches F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Severo Manzano came free, but Mateo Avilés reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustavo La Motte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Danilo Aldana fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustavo La Motte in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Saúl Garza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ezequiel Fenner's late challenge caught a Mapuches F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ezequiel Fenner helped the player get up and apologised. Danilo Aldana succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 91st playminute. In the 96th minute Gustavo La Motte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Saúl Garza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Epifanío Aliaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Mateo Avilés tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mapuches F.C. were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Coquimbo for a fine match.
