Aurelius Merino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jasone Mancheño in the 36th minute of the match. The supporters of Gauchal booed when Cayucupil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaspar Bernales didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Angel San Martín took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aurelius Merino. Cayucupil's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Aurelius Merino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasone Mancheño, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 46th play minute Xabier Orozco came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jose Esteban Gorostizaga. 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Gauchal's Jose Esteban Gorostizaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xabier Orozco in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th of the match, Carlo Lambert tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Aurelius Merino got in the way and made a wonderful save. Ubaldo Matildo Paz was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 88th match minute, Cayucupil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Matildo Paz to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Cayucupil's zone, Carlo Lambert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelius Merino came out of the goal and Carlo Lambert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jose Esteban Gorostizaga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xabier Orozco, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 93rd match minute, Gauchal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zebulón Gebhard to maneuver through the defense. Jose Esteban Gorostizaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xabier Orozco in the 95th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Xabier Orozco notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Gauchal's Jose Esteban Gorostizaga. Jose Esteban Gorostizaga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cayucupil fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gauchal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
