Enrique Riera hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Mario Domínguez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xosé Guichard, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Teofilio Garzón fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubén Lanz having to interfere. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Papayeros's goalkeeper Mario Domínguez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rubén Lanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Txomin Quintana in the 47th minute.

The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Munizaga AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
