With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernán Mascayo in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Tomás Cisneros saved Chanaral from getting behind. If Miguel Ángel Castillo Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Ángel Castillo Velasco in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Tomás Cisneros saved Chanaral from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Gorbea's zone, Silvio Eguiluz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taurino Delgado came out of the goal and Silvio Eguiluz tried to chip the ball over his head. Chanaral's Pedro Tomás Cisneros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernán Mascayo in the 42nd minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
