The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Asier Bustunzuria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Odilón Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Prudentio Bishara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meulin's supporters rose to their feet, but Prudentio Bishara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Menéndez Dunn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Menéndez Dunn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Tordesillas, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. If Jaime Tordesillas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Asier Bustunzuria didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Odilón Duarte went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Meulin's Asier Bustunzuria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Maria Airola in the 21st minute of play. Asier Bustunzuria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odilón Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angelillo Mendiola hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Odilón Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Meulin's Asier Bustunzuria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Maria Airola in the 42nd minute of play. Menéndez Dunn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Prudentio Bishara in the 47th minute. After the first half Salinas AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Jaime Tordesillas made the kick off in the second half. Menéndez Dunn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Prudentio Bishara's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Jose Maria Airola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salinas AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jose Maria Airola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Menéndez Dunn came out of the goal and Jaime Tordesillas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Prudentio Bishara struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Menéndez Dunn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meulin. Prudentio Bishara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Menéndez Dunn having to interfere. Meulin's Angelillo Mendiola got his second yellow card of the match in the 73rd minute. The referee ordered Angelillo Mendiola off the ground. In the 74th minute, Angelillo Mendiola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Salinas AFC's Cipriano Grau shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 74th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Asier Bustunzuria but with some difficulty. Odilón Duarte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Asier Bustunzuria made a huge save. In the 85th minute, Salinas AFC's Jose Maria Airola ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Asier Bustunzuria. Asier Bustunzuria yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Odilón Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asier Bustunzuria having to interfere.
