The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Chillaiza AFC's Samuel Losada got a free kick in the 3rd minute. If Eulalio Monreal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eulalio Monreal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abelado Domimisse read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Abelado Domimisse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Manuel Ancieta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After recieving a nice pass, Molineros AFC's Niceto Quilodrán tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Victoro Heiremans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Manuel Pinilla having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Molineros AFC's Victoro Heiremans sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jose Manuel Pinilla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Victoro Heiremans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Manuel Ancieta made a kick off. The supporters of Chillaiza AFC booed when Molineros AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogerio Camilo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eulalio Monreal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chillaiza AFC's Eulalio Monreal got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 68 minutes into the game, Chillaiza AFC's Samuel Losada nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abelado Domimisse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Victoro Heiremans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. When Eulalio Monreal came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Chillaiza AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eulalio Monreal couldn't finish the play. Carlos Manuel Ancieta struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Abelado Domimisse didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chillaiza AFC.
