Candido Panussi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bermejo Ugas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Candido Panussi came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Ipres's Abraham Arestizabal. But to his dismay, Abraham Arestizabal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Modestio Trucco kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute of the match Lucas Paez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Candido Panussi skillfully saved the ball. Remi Orellana kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Candido Panussi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustaquio Paravic, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Ipres were furious when Remigio Peña was red carded, 26 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Ipres:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of River:s goal. Ipres's Próspero Deneken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Muñoz in the 32nd minute of play. Severino Camilo hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. River's Roger Muñoz got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bermejo Ugas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Próspero Deneken read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Próspero Deneken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Muñoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ipres getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Eustaquio Paravic hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eustaquio Paravic to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in River's zone, Eustaquio Paravic stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Candido Panussi came out of the goal and Eustaquio Paravic tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eustaquio Paravic fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Candido Panussi having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, River's goalkeeper Candido Panussi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eustaquio Paravic. Candido Panussi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eustaquio Paravic went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 75 minutes into the match, River's goalkeeper Candido Panussi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eustaquio Paravic. Ipres's Francisco Miguel Grajales got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roger Muñoz's late challenge caught a Ipres's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Eustaquio Paravic managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipres's supporters rose to their feet, but Eustaquio Paravic was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Candido Panussi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ipres were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing River to leave the ground with a draw.
