In the 12th match minute, Punaco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baudelio Peragallo to maneuver through the defense. Cachapoal's Luis Angel Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Manuel Chaparro in the 21st minute of play. Luis Angel Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calixto Campo in the 24th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Punaco's goalkeeper Loreto Alzerreca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orlando Zuburu. Vicente Baeza's late challenge caught a Cachapoal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Manuel Chaparro made a kick off. Orlando Zuburu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Loreto Alzerreca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Valentín Echandia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Angel Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Manuel Chaparro in the 57th minute of the match. Vicente Baeza hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Valentín Echandia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luis Angel Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Manuel Chaparro in the 62nd minute of play. Calixto Campo scored 0-2 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luis Angel Moreira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Valentín Echandia kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. When Honorio Ferraris fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cachapoal's protests and gave Honorio Ferraris a yellow card for diving instead. 73 minutes into the match, Calixto Campo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luis Angel Moreira, 0-3.
