The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fernando Mosca took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luis Angel Moreira. Cachapoal's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Darío Raab struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Luis Angel Moreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piritas AFC. In the 14th match minute, Piritas AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saúl Ballesteros to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Valentín Echandia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachapoal's supporters rose to their feet, but Valentín Echandia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Odilón Portillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luis Alberto Vilches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Angel Moreira having to interfere. Orlando Zuburu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Orlando Zuburu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darío Raab who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Luis Angel Moreira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luis Angel Moreira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luis Alberto Vilches showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 28 minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Cachapoal's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Alberto Vilches came free, but Luis Angel Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darío Raab received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Luis Angel Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Orlando Zuburu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odilón Portillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Alberto Vilches in the 45th minute of play forced Cachapoal's goalkeeper Luis Angel Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Valentín Echandia made the kick off in the second half. Luis Alberto Vilches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Angel Moreira having to interfere. Valentín Echandia was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 57th minute. Cachapoal's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Odilón Portillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentín Echandia in the 60th minute of the match. Luis Alberto Vilches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduard Browne's late challenge caught a Cachapoal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduard Browne helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Piritas AFC's Eduard Browne got a free kick in the 69th minute. When Orlando Zuburu came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Cachapoal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orlando Zuburu couldn't finish the play. Valentín Echandia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Odilón Portillo having to interfere. In the 85th minute of the match Fernando Mosca sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luis Angel Moreira skillfully saved the ball. Cachapoal's Luis Angel Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Alberto Vilches in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute Luis Alberto Vilches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Angel Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cachapoal's Honorio Ferraris got a free kick in the 89th minute. Darío Raab received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Luis Angel Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Luis Alberto Vilches had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luis Angel Moreira. Cachapoal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Alberto Vilches was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Piritas AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cachapoal for a fine match.
