Spectators: 6705 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1705, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Aureo Zarricueta got the match started through his kick off. Aureo Zarricueta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 6 minutes into the game, Aureo Zarricueta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Calabozo AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Equipo de Natación the free kick. In the 6th minute, Aureo Zarricueta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Xavier Benavides came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Equipo de Natación fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xavier Benavides couldn't finish the play. Equipo de Natación's Xavier Benavides got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15thth minute of the game Aureo Zarricueta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Equipo de Natación's Arnaldo Atienza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Miguel Hernánde Parada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Dionisio Salamanca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Equipo de Natación's Luis Echenique tried to score from far away in the 24th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After having played for 26 minutes, Xavier Benavides managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Equipo de Natación's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xavier Benavides was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute, Xavier Benavides ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adolfo Dagorret was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Calabozo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Torres came free, but Adolfo Dagorret reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adolfo Dagorret showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavier Benavides, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Equipo de Natación's Arnaldo Atienza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aureo Zarricueta in the 35th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Abner Canningham managed to get in a good position for a shot. Equipo de Natación's supporters rose to their feet, but Abner Canningham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Dagorret breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Equipo de Natación's Xavier Benavides got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnaldo Atienza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Gebhard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aureo Zarricueta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Hernánde Parada got free with Arnaldo Atienza in the 49th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 55th minute, Xavier Benavides got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adolfo Dagorret took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abner Canningham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute Aureo Zarricueta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Atienza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Miguel Hernánde Parada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Calabozo AFC's zone, Abner Canningham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Dagorret came out of the goal and Abner Canningham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd minute Miguel Hernánde Parada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Atienza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Equipo de Natación's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Hernánde Parada came free, but Arnaldo Atienza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Equipo de Natación defense, Aureo Zarricueta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnaldo Atienza. The Equipo de Natación fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnaldo Atienza should have stopped the shot. Xavier Benavides recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
