In the 9th minute, Araucana's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Emmanuel Machado fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Araucana's Jimeno Scholtzl proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Araucana from getting a goal against them. In the 21st minute, one of Contornasa FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Contornasa FC. Nicanor Goicoechea had in the 24thth minute some difficulties stopping Eduard Devilat's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When Contornasa FC's Xabel Larrea in 33 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Jimeno Scholtzl guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Gaitano Bayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Nicanor Goicoechea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicanor Goicoechea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofilo Deneken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 45 minutes, Emmanuel Machado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Contornasa FC and the Araucana players grew even worse after the yellow card. Emmanuel Machado hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xabel Larrea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Contornasa FC's goalkeeper Nicanor Goicoechea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teofilo Deneken. A collision led to Contornasa FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Xabel Larrea hit a great ball. After 64 minutes, Teofilo Deneken made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Contornasa FC's Nicanor Goicoechea tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Contornasa FC's Bonifacio Pumaraboli got a free kick in the 72nd minute. It was beautiful to see Araucana's Eduard Devilat in action when he in the 74th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 75th minute, Teofilo Deneken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Xabel Larrea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Contornasa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xabel Larrea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jimeno Scholtzl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emmanuel Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Jimeno Scholtzl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Teofilo Deneken fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nicanor Goicoechea, passed just outside the right post. Contornasa FC's Xabel Larrea got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Xabel Larrea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Araucana supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Araucana would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
