Abelardo Achondo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Balendín Pérez having to interfere. After 19 played minutes Hospital got a freekick which was hit by Edelmiro Pandolfi. After recieving a nice pass, Montechico FC's Adán Tamayo tried to score from far away in the 20th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Juan María Marx hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, Montechico FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Achondo came free, but Balendín Pérez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Balendín Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Cristóbal Marholz, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After having played for 33 minutes, Abelardo Achondo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hospital's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Achondo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37thth minute of the game Abelardo Achondo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montechico FC's Balendín Pérez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Abelardo Achondo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hospital's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Achondo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ulises Bolados had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 48 in the game by Alvar Jarpa from a close distance when the talented Manuel Antonio Villagrán managed to make a qualified save. Hospital's players were relieved. After the first half Hospital were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Alvar Jarpa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montechico FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvar Jarpa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Antonio Villagrán breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Balendín Pérez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abelardo Achondo in the 62nd minute. With a little luck, Montechico FC's Balendín Pérez got control of the ball when Abelardo Achondo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th match minute, Montechico FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Américo Azagra to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hospital eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
