After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Firmín Barroso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huildad's supporters rose to their feet, but Firmín Barroso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliverio Almarza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gaitano Barrenechea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Huildad's Firmín Barroso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oliverio Almarza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Carlos José Arizaga's late challenge caught a Aquina AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos José Arizaga helped the player get up and apologised. After 33 minutes of play, Huildad's Firmín Barroso made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oliverio Almarza was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Firmín Barroso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aquina AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Constantino Folch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Huildad's Caupolicán Folch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Huildad from getting a goal against them. Caupolicán Folch made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Constantino Folch sent off a good shot on target. Eustaquio Alzaga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Caupolicán Folch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Firmín Barroso to strike the kick off in the second half.
