Ulises Faúndez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Horno's goal looked a bit too open when Natalio Price came free, but Rodolfo Altamirano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Horno's zone, Herminio Esquivel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Altamirano came out of the goal and Herminio Esquivel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Herminio Esquivel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horno's defense didn't have a chance, in the 44th minute, when Natalio Price scored to the left of an out of position Rodolfo Altamirano, making the score, 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vicens Daly to make the kick off. Herminio Esquivel took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodolfo Altamirano. The Quintero fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 71 minutes into the match, Horno's goal looked a bit too open when Natalio Price came free, but Rodolfo Altamirano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, Román Andrews was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The coaching staff of Horno protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Carlo Carreto had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 89th minute, one of Horno:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Horno. Rodolfo Altamirano went to the wrong direction when Aurelio Corbalán was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Rodolfo Altamirano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Price in the 95th minute of play. Quintero's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
