The supporters of Quilquen FC booed when Barriles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentín Gundelach didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Barriles's zone, Estevan Tagle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro José Balboa came out of the goal and Estevan Tagle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Quilquen FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Estevan Tagle hit a great ball. Juan Carlos Urmeneta struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Genaro Goyeneche didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barriles. In the 34th minute of the match, Juan Carlos Urmeneta got a very nice opportunity to score, but Genaro Goyeneche was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Estevan Tagle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Pedro José Balboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro José Balboa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Darien Rovers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. Barriles's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Estevan Tagle scored to the left of an out of position Pedro José Balboa, making the score, 0-3. Darien Rovers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Estevan Tagle managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Quilquen FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Genaro Goyeneche should have stopped the shot. Darien Rovers in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
