Leonardo Maiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baldomiro Malbec. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonardo Maiz ran back to his position shaking his head. Baldomiro Malbec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Topocho Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxín Velarde in the 25th minute of play forced Gualleco FC's goalkeeper Balendín Zuloaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
