The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Liga FC's Carlos Gustavo Fiamenghi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilkka Hirvonen in the 4th minute of play. If Ilkka Hirvonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the game, Esequiel Sepúlveda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liga FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.S.D Canvalache the free kick. Elodio Anriquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moncho Llano in the 23rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Liga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eduard Searle came free, but Carlos Gustavo Fiamenghi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Liga FC's Celino Araya got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After 44 played minutes Liga FC got a freekick which was hit by Moncho Llano. Guaberto Cebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eduard Searle to strike the kick off in the second half. Vicent Alegre kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Elodio Anriquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celino Araya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pere Jordi Soudre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Liga FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Esequiel Sepúlveda hit a great ball. C.S.D Canvalache's Pere Jordi Soudre got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 75 minutes, Eduard Searle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.S.D Canvalache's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduard Searle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celino Araya kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Carlos Gustavo Fiamenghi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduard Searle, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Liga FC's zone, Pere Jordi Soudre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Gustavo Fiamenghi came out of the goal and Pere Jordi Soudre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pere Jordi Soudre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Carlos Gustavo Fiamenghi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, C.S.D Canvalache's goal looked a bit too open when Celino Araya came free, but Elodio Anriquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Many of C.S.D Canvalache's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. C.S.D Canvalache may have spent more time on the ball, but Liga FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
