Penon's Héctor Castillo Velasco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Penon from getting a goal against them. Edmundo Torrealba struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Héctor Castillo Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Tres Animales. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Álvaro Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Tres Animales's supporters rose to their feet, but Álvaro Vidal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Héctor Castillo Velasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Héctor Castillo Velasco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Álvaro Vidal went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silvino Verdejo made a kick off. The referee gave Penon a penalty, 61 minutes into the game. In the 81st match minute, Los Tres Animales was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alipio Heyboer to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Los Tres Animales getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Nacho Atria hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Penon defense, Edmundo Torrealba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Héctor Castillo Velasco. The Penon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Héctor Castillo Velasco should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Penon players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Los Tres Animales.
