Spectators: 7973 (Terracing: 5991, Seating: 1837, VIP seats: 145) Cristián Partarrieu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Pedraza having to interfere. Universidad Catolica's Arturo Pedraza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristián Partarrieu in the 8th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Universidad Catolica's zone, Florentino Mansilla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Pedraza came out of the goal and Florentino Mansilla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 14 played minutes Mallleco Unido got a freekick which was hit by Cristián Partarrieu. In the 15th minute, Florentino Mansilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Leopoldo Jacinto Giagier came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Mallleco Unido fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Jacinto Giagier couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the game, Florín Canal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mallleco Unido's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Universidad Catolica the free kick. The supporters of Universidad Catolica booed when Mallleco Unido was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florín Canal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute Silvestre Fehrman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Peñafiel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Universidad Catolica's goal looked a bit too open when Cristián Partarrieu came free, but Arturo Pedraza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arturo Pedraza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florentino Mansilla in the 31st minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Mallleco Unido got a freekick which was hit by Florentino Mansilla. If Cristián Partarrieu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Universidad Catolica's goal looked a bit too open when Florentino Mansilla came free, but Arturo Pedraza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arturo Pedraza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florentino Mansilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silvestre Fehrman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Silvestre Fehrman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Universidad Catolica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Florentino Mansilla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silvestre Fehrman scored 2-0 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Javier Peñafiel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mallleco Unido's Leoncio Inostroza got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78thth minute of the game Silvestre Fehrman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mallleco Unido's Javier Peñafiel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Cristián Partarrieu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristián Partarrieu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Arturo Pedraza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Javier Peñafiel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Cunningham, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Javier Peñafiel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvestre Fehrman in the 87th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Florín Canal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Javier Peñafiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvestre Fehrman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silvestre Fehrman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
