After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florentino Mansilla to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Quilapalo's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Jacinto Giagier came free, but Carlos José Polanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Quilapalo booed when Mallleco Unido was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justo Brizuela didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Mallleco Unido's Florentino Mansilla got a free kick in the 67th minute. Mallleco Unido were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Quilapalo's much stronger midfield.
