To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javier Vivero in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rollo Gavilán saved Duao from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lander Basualto in the 47th minute of play forced Deporte Provincial Osorno's goalkeeper Fernán Redondo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lander Basualto was the one to do the kick off. Fabio Canavesio's late challenge caught a Duao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabio Canavesio helped the player get up and apologised. Moisés Carrión took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fernán Redondo. Deporte Provincial Osorno's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Javier Vivero got free with Rollo Gavilán in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rollo Gavilán, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Antonio Aldana couldn't finish the play. Rollo Gavilán was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Firmín Quintana. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Antonio Aldana in the 90th minute of play forced Deporte Provincial Osorno's goalkeeper Fernán Redondo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rollo Gavilán showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Javier Vivero in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Deporte Provincial Osorno had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
