Lucián Rovers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 20 minutes, Silvio Pumarino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Graneros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvio Pumarino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 27 played minutes Graneros got a freekick which was hit by Silvio Pumarino. Severiano Denton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Canitrot in the 34th minute of the match. Urtsín Waugh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bairon Saso in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Graneros booed when Concepción was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Nordenflycht didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Concepción players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Graneros were winning 0-2.

Bairon Saso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Urtsín Waugh when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gatha Niby, 65 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Lucián Rovers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urtsín Waugh having to interfere. In the 68th match minute, Concepción was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Balendín Irarrázaval to maneuver through the defense. 72 minutes into the match, Pacífico Fadda dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Urtsín Waugh, 0-3.
