The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Tuna Talcahuano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuelo Garmendia to maneuver through the defense. Laureano Acosta might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Milián Viel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laureano Acosta ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute of the match, Patricio Espina got a very nice opportunity to score, but Milián Viel was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 32nd minute, Patricio Espina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Milián Viel was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With a little luck, Tuna Talcahuano's Milián Viel got control of the ball when Patricio Espina tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute Haroldo Larrauna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frédéric Chopin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Patricio Espina made a precise shot to the right of Milián Viel. Tuna Talcahuano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Patricio Espina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Milián Viel having to interfere. When Marco Rondón came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Valle Verde FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Rondón couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodolfo Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Laureano Zambrano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valle Verde FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tuna Talcahuano the free kick. Laureano Zambrano hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Valle Verde FC's zone, Rodolfo Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédéric Chopin came out of the goal and Rodolfo Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patricio Espina in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Milián Viel saved Tuna Talcahuano from getting behind. Quintén Trouve charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Quintén Trouve the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Valle Verde FC's zone, Haroldo Larrauna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédéric Chopin came out of the goal and Haroldo Larrauna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marco Rondón fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Milián Viel having to interfere. The supporters of Valle Verde FC booed when Tuna Talcahuano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuelo Garmendia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laureano Acosta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Milián Viel having to make a save. Patricio Espina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th minute, Marco Rondón got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Rondón blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Milián Viel having to make a save. Milián Viel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marco Rondón went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Mercurio Winter kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Álvaro Yanque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Milián Viel having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Tuna Talcahuano's Manuelo Garmendia got a free kick in the 79th minute. Milián Viel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Espina, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Marco Rondón fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Milián Viel having to interfere. In the 86th match minute, Valle Verde FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Miguel Bulnes to maneuver through the defense. 96 minutes into the match, Tuna Talcahuano's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Espina came free, but Milián Viel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Valle Verde FC had played much better football throughout.
